Aachen is a city in the German state North Rhine-Westphalia, directly located at the Dutch and Belgian border, not far away from Cologne. Since Roman times Aachen or Aix-Chapelle was known for its hot sulphur springs and from the early medevial times it was the place where the emprors of the Holy Roman Empire were crowned. Today Aachen is still known for it's cathedral, industry and it's university, being one of the best in Germany. And: Aachen is Arlingtons partner-city.

Our association was founded in 1993 to promote and deepen the friendship of the people in Arlington and Aachen. Accordingly we facilitate a variety of different activities like the exchange of schools, students or artists and many more.

Currently most of our contents are provided in German only, but we are planning to expand the English section of our homepage soon.
